Time increments

Ralph Somma

I set my minimum time increments to 6 minutes.
However, when I create a time entry, the drop menu down shows increments of 3 minutes.

I would make sense to have that time entry drop-down conform to the minimum incremental time setting.
It’s very cluttered, cumbersome and time consuming to scroll through all those unnecessary times to get to the one I need.

I would like to be able to enter time in fractions, without the drop down list or entering hours and minutes. For example, I wanted to enter 4.25, but the drop down list only had 4.20 and 4.30. And it’s more cumbersome to enter 4:15 (I cna’t use the number pad to do that because it needs the colon key). It may seem like a small thing, but in the course of a day the little frustrations add up.

    Hi Ralph Somma,

Changing the minimum time increment does not change how the time entry drop down menu display. It does change the information being entered into the time billed section. For instance clicking on drop down and selecting 0.05Hrs (3 minutes) will cause the time billed to display 00.06 (6 minutes). If you change the drop down to 0.10Hrs (6 minutes) the time billed will display 00.06 (6 minutes). If you change the drop down to 0.15 (9 minutes) the billed time will round it up by 6 minutes and will display 00.12 (12 minutes). Alternatively you may manually enter in your time withing the Time Billed section of the time card and not have to worry about the drop down at all. I will put in this request for you. If you have any other questions or concerns please let us know.
